please,someone help me with differences btn obstructive and restrictive pulmonary diseases.To which group does asthma belong?

Asthma is an obstructive ds cos it causes obst. In primary or sec. Bronchi or trachea or bronchioles, restrictive ds. Is one which resists or restricts proper expansion or relaxation of lung parenchyma e.gd emphysema.fev1tofvc ratio normal in restr. Ds. ..decrease in obstr.

In order to understand better the differences between obstructive and restrictive you should take one example of each and study it in depth. Asthma for obstructive (or COPD), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis for restrictive and sarcoidosis which is both.

or simply, REStrictive from the word RESistance and OBSTRUCTive from the word OBSTRUCTion :)
